How your information is handled.

Last updated 30 July 2026

What we collect

When you create an account we store your email address, an optional first name, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password itself.

We store the conversations you have with MenoBuddy. This is what lets you pick a conversation back up where you left it, which is the core of how the product works. Those conversations may include health information you choose to share.

If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we keep only a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status.

If you use the community, we store the name you chose to post under and the posts you write. See what you post in the community below — it is the one part of MenoBuddy other people can see.

What we do with it

Your conversations are used to provide the service to you: giving the companion the context it needs to be useful over time. Message content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your conversations to build profiles for marketing.

Photos you send

On a paid plan you can attach a photo to a message — a supplement label, a nutrition panel, a page of notes. We do not store it. The photo is sent to Anthropic to generate that one reply and is then discarded; your conversation keeps only a note that a photo was sent, not the picture itself. It will not reappear if you reload the page, and it is not included in an export.

Photos are resized in your browser before they are sent, which also removes the hidden data a phone camera attaches to an image — including the location where it was taken. That never leaves your device.

MenoBuddy will not read a photograph of your body, a rash, or a clinical or laboratory result and tell you what it means. It is not able to examine you, and a picture is not enough to judge any of that safely. Please send those to someone who can.

Health information

MenoBuddy is a general wellness and education product. It is not a healthcare provider, and it is not a HIPAA-covered entity — so information you share here does not carry the same legal protections it would in a clinical setting. Please keep that in mind and share only what you're comfortable sharing.

What you post in the community

The community is the one part of MenoBuddy other people can see. It works differently from the rest. Please read this part slowly.

Every other member can read what you post. It is not on the open internet. Nobody without an account can see it. We ask search engines to leave it alone. But once another member has read your post, we cannot control what she does with it. Write with that in mind.

Members see the name you post under. That is all they see. They do not see your real name. They do not see your email. They do not see anything you said to MenoBuddy in private. You choose that name. If you choose one that gives you away, that is the one thing here we cannot undo.

We check every post before it goes up. The text goes to Anthropic, who check it against our rules. We ask three things. Is this her own story, rather than telling other women what to take? Is she selling something? Has she left a phone number or an email in it?

A post that does not pass is not published, and it is not kept. You see the reason right away. You can change it and try again. We do not keep a copy of what did not go up.

You can delete your own post whenever you like. That removes the words and takes it down. If you delete your account, we take down your posts too, and the name you used goes back in the pool.

Who else processes it

We do not run any of this alone. These are the only companies your information reaches, and each of them only receives what their part of the job requires:

How long we keep it

Your account and conversations are kept for as long as your account exists, because being able to pick a conversation back up where you left it is the point of the product. You can delete your account yourself at any time, from your Account page — everything goes with it.

If you cancel a paid plan, your account stays and drops to the free tier rather than being removed — so nothing disappears unless you ask for it. Records we are legally required to keep for tax and accounting, such as invoices, are retained by Stripe under their own schedule.

Your rights over your data

Wherever you live, you can ask us to do any of the following, and we will action it within 30 days at no cost:

To exercise any of these, email menobuddycare@outlook.com from the address on your account. We will confirm when it is done.

If you are in the UK or EU and you think we have handled your information badly, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising — under any definition, including California's.

Cookies

We use four cookies. Three of them keep the site working and keep you signed in. The fourth one is for analytics. It tells us which pages get used, so we can fix what is not working. There are no advertising cookies here, and nothing on this site follows you around other websites.

Our analytics come from a company called PostHog. It is set up to record which pages are opened, not what you write. We have turned off the settings that would capture the text on a page, and screen recording is off. We also strip the ID of your conversation out of the web address before anything is sent. Your messages to MenoBuddy are never sent to PostHog.

Children

MenoBuddy is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how your information is handled in any way that materially affects you, we will email account holders before it takes effect rather than quietly updating this page.

Contact

Questions about any of this, or about something you would rather not put in writing to a chatbot, go to menobuddycare@outlook.com. A person reads it.

Note: This page describes our current practices in plain language. If you have questions about how your information is handled, please ask before sharing anything sensitive.
